Distinctive and stylish in a an unusual colour. A proper 'bikers jacket that's smart enough to wear casually as well.
Had to swap the jacket as the first one was too small. Totally happy with this one though. Gives one big big shoulders. Love the colour and texture. Only one small gripe, it takes a while to get used to tying the neck strap.
Very well made and proportioned jacket. Material is well put together and the fasteners are great quality. It's incredibly comfortable. My only minor irritation is that is like a pocket for a back protector.
Wore this jacket for the first time today , was a cold one but very warm , little cold patch around the zip but not a problem . Got caught in a heavy rain shower too but this jacket kept me bone dry , great all round autumn jacket , looks great too
Good quality can't say about performance only had a few weeks
Looks good, fits nicely, it's more of an ox blood red which I kinda like. Been in the rain and didn't get wet, which is nice.
Excellent value. For my riding requirements it will be ideal. Comfortable, perfect fit, and warm.
I don't expect 100% waterproof at this price, but it will withstand shower.
Longevity unknown, but at this price point it doesn't really matter.
I own two of these jackets, one in black and the other in red, which is more oxblood. I recently rode from the the North West of England to the Cotswolds. Only got light rained on once. I think it will be fine but may struggle in torrential rain. I have bought the Oxford Rainseal over jacket and trousers for touring. I usually take a large in most brands, 42-44 inch chest, 34-36 inch waist. I find an XL in the Holwell and overjacket fit great.
Great looking jacket, goes superbly with my cruiser.
Thermal liner for winter use but removable in summer.
D30 protection where needed.
Love it
Nicely fitting jacket, seems good and waterproof after getting caught in a rain shower. I did order a size up from my normal size and it fits really well.
Oxford's product's always fit me well & are well made (I'm a larger biker)
Turn up at a restaurant & I doubt if anyone would notice it is a biker jacket.
The jacket looks good and is comfortable. It is also a lot warmer than I thought it would be, I wore it on a cold day with just a T shirt on underneath and it was definitely warm enough.
Fantastic jacket with a excellent fit really good quality and warm.
Well made as usual from a oxford product.
Nice and warm with the lining in haven't worn in the rain yet I'm glad I went up a size it fits perfectly and it's well made
Can't fault the value, well priced and well made.
The sleeve design is a bit awkward for my bulky armoured gloves (they've got thick armour around the wrist extending up a few inches so they're too big to fit inside the sleeve and not wide enough to go over the sleeve) but works with my regular gauntlet RST Blade gloves and obviously is fine with short gloves.
Also, no back armour holding pouch so you're looking at using Oxford's own velcro attached ones (or doing nifty modding). Can't complain about the price/fitment of Oxford's armour.
A nice looking jacket. Quite heavy, with a detachable thermal liner (with sleeves). Nice touches like corduroy lining on the collar and cuff, and some neoprene on the collar at the back for comfort and to stop water going down the back of your neck.
Fit on me isn't perfect. I'm a 42" chest, 6' tall and have a bit of a belly. I got the L but it's okay across the chest, tight at the waist (the adjusters don't work well) and the arms are big. If you are slimmer waisted with big arms the fit may be perfect. I'd advise trying it on.
Armour is of the pre formed variety so a bit thicker and stiffer than D30 types, but comfortable in wear and with good coverage.
No back protector.
Brass zips and poppers are good, chest pockets are small and side pockets are okay. All lined for water resistance.
Inside pocket flimsy and has no zip or velcro just a flap.
The colour in 'red' is not red, and not as dark red as it looks in the photos. It's an Oxblood red/brown but still different from most.
Overall, a lovely looking jacket, well made, good value as with all Oxford, but check the fit.
Great jacket fits well warn with liner looks good on and off the bike. Haven't tried it in the rain yet but probably will soon.
This jacket is stylish, protective, well made and weatherproof. I really have nothing bad to say about this jacket. I've used it all winter for my commute it's hard to fault, it'll keep you warm and dry, the detachable thermal lining makes this a great all year round jacket.

Traditional styling with contemporary design. This classic-styled wet-waxed cotton jacket uses traditional materials and manufacturing techniques but hidden beneath the old-world look is a hidden layer of modern technology. The Holwell is produced by British Millerain, a company which harks back to a day when goods were transported by wind-powered ships. Their sails were made from cotton which was waxed to protect against the ravages of the sea; the material consequently found its way into the clothing which sailors wore to protect themselves from the same weather. Respectful of the material's heritage, Oxford's designers have employed traditional tailoring methods to assemble the outer garment. For example, pockets are pleated in order to lie flat when empty but provide space to expand when full. The collar and accompanying (removable) belt are designed and cut in 3 dimensions, rather than as simple, flat panels; the resulting fit is just perfect. The labour-intensive triple-stitching employed in all the key and critical impact areas are both pleasing to the eye and highly protective. The result is a highly protective jacket which looks and feels great. Inside, it has a breathable membrane for added protection against the weather and a classic Oxford lining. The collar features a rolled neoprene finish and corduroy facing on the inside as do the cuffs, adding to comfort levels. It has a big YKK No10 zip at the front, handwarmer pockets and a short connection zip for adding pants. New Oxford Heritage press studs feature too. CE Level 1 protectors are at the shoulders and elbows as standard and there is provision for an optional back protector sold separately. The whole jacket is CE approved to level A.

as I wear a rucka Kastor armour vest under a jacket should I go up a size from my normal L to XL
